About PM Shri Schools Scheme
The Government of India has launched this impactful education empowerment initiative known as PM Shri School Scheme on September 7, 2022, under which the Government aims to transform existing education institutions into modern education hubs and exemplary institutions. According to this scheme, the Government aims to develop over 14,500 existing schools and education organisations that showcase the full implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP). This initiative aims to create High Quality, Equitable, inclusive and Joyful learning environment for all the children across the nation.

The main objective behind the PM Shri School List is to provide a final report to all those citizens and educational institutions who have registered themselves under the PM Shri School Scheme. Under this scheme, the Government aims to redevelop and renovate about 14,500 existing education institutions and schools and make them through the National Education Policy (NEP). The Government has finally released the School List for all those citizens who have registered their schools under this scheme and can now check their school name in the list released by the Government.

Eligibility Criteria
- Must be an existing school managed by the Central, State, or UT government, or a local body.
- The school must have a valid UDISE+ code for identification and data verification.
- Schools must apply through an online portal and be part of the “Challenge Mode” selection process.
- Must have a permanent, functional building in good condition.
- Needs to have basic facilities like separate toilets for boys and girls, and potable drinking water.
- Must have student enrollment higher than the state average for its category (elementary or secondary).
- Needs to have a barrier-free environment, such as ramps, for students with disabilities.
- The respective State/UT government must sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Education.
- Urban schools must score at least 70% and rural schools at least 60% in the final selection challenge, verified by physical inspection.
