The Nijut Moina Scheme is a financial assistance program which is launched by the Assam Government in 2024, under the leadership of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. The main goal of this scheme is to empower girl students by helping them financially, so that they can continue their studies without being a burden on their families. So, under this scheme Girls studying in Class 11 to graduation level will receive financial support. The amount will be sent directly to the student’s bank account. The schemes cover both school and college-going girls. And more than 10 lakh girls will get benefit from this scheme.

The first instalment of the Nijut Moina Scheme is going to be released in October 2025. So, the girls who are already registered will get financial help and launching first instalment is a very important step for the same. Girls who have already applied for the scheme and they are eligible too will start receiving their first payments directly in their bank accounts linked with their Aadhaar numbers.
