How To Bijli Sakhi Yojana Work?
- Firstly electricity department and the district administration chose 21 active and literate women from different self-help groups in Jashpur.
- After that, selected women were trained on how to take proper meter readings and annual data.
- Now the women were appointed as “Bijli Sakhis” to manage the meter reading work in nearby villages.
- After that, for a single meter reading, women received ₹12, which adds up to around ₹4,000 to ₹5,000 monthly.
- There are many Bijli Sakhis who work for about 5 – 7 days a month to receive extra income while supporting their families.
